What's New in
SmartGym 7.3
Heart Rate Zones across every workout, a new Advanced Logging interface on Apple Watch, and flexible Workout Days.
Explore the UpdateHeart Rate Zones
SmartGym already tracks heart rates, calories, distance, volume, and much more with detailed charts and breakdowns. Now it adds a Heart Rate Zones section inside each workout. The feature is backwards compatible, so every workout done before this update will also get Heart Rate Zones data.
The heart rate chart now displays colors to show all your heart rate zones during the entire workout, giving you a complete picture of your training intensity.
On Apple Watch, the Workout screen has been redesigned entirely with the Heart Rate Zones bar at the top. The background color also changes according to the zone you're in.
Advanced Logging
Since Day 1, SmartGym was built around the Apple Watch, and one of the core goals has always been to make it as simple and easy to use as possible. Technology should be invisible to the user. The default interface reflects that: choose your routine, choose the exercise, start the workout session. With a single tap you log the set you've just done and automatically start a resting timer. After you rest, one tap logs another set and restarts the timer.
You always have all the information you need: how many sets you've done, the next set if it's different (so you can grab the weights and prepare while resting), details about the next exercise, and Predictive Action, a button that always shows the next step. After completing all sets, a single tap moves you to the next exercise. One button for each action.
But SmartGym has grown, and working out is extremely personal. Every user has their own way and their own preferences. Advanced Logging is an optional second interface made for those who want to precisely log all their sets. It shows one set at a time, with the option to edit those values on the same screen and a log button below. This gives you the ability to quickly adjust weights, reps, or rest on the fly and log them as you go. After logging a set, SmartGym automatically starts a rest timer on the same screen.
Every user still gets the Default interface automatically. Users who want to use Advanced Logging can simply change it from the More tab, just like switching a Watch Face. A Learn More button shows a side-by-side comparison between the two options so you can make an informed choice.
Workout Days
Previously, you could assign specific days to a routine (for example, "Chest and Shoulders" on Monday and Wednesday) as labels to help organize routines and guide how many times per week to train. Now, you can also set a number of days instead of precise days, giving you more flexibility in how you schedule your training.
Available on Every Apple Platform
SmartGym 7.3 is available today on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.
